Unfortunately, politicians don't release statements about (or become aware of) these stories unless they break onto the national news. THEN they warrant comment. The media are the gatekeepers. And they mostly offer vapid “infotainment.” Reason #7012 why we'll continue our decline as a country.

Nick, don't you find it interesting that the mainstream media did just as this article says-they quietly hid important news to cover a fly. Why does the media go so softly on the Obama administration? Shouldn't the President stand up and say the actions against the Flores family was absolutely wrong? Why did the President ignore it as well as the media? Don't you think it curious to note that if the previous President had done nothing the news media would have taken issue with the President's lack of action and the horrific act perpetrated against an innocent child? Why do you think the media is so biased and so lacking in real news coverage? If you were taught ethics at SHC then you would have learned that the job of news reporters is to give fair and balanced news free of personal subjectivity.

Thank God for the SPLC tracking down and suing these scumbags.

The last time I was in Montgomery, we parked across the street from the SPLC headquarters. They have a 24/7 security detail; one of the armed guards eyed my big van warily. Their funky postmodern building is specially designed with 6 foot thick concrete walls and blast walls curving around the entrance. Each year, they average at least one conviction from the myriad threats and actions by far-right extremists.

Yeah, this is utterly disgusting and it's outrageous that the MSM wasn't all over it. If it had been a Mexican gang targeting a white family because they were white? I predict it would have been all over the news, amid outcries for more immigration control from all the rich white (Republican) politicians.
