Response to Poverty Outlaw:

Saying that George Washington would denounce George Bush as a traitor, followed by a quote on the importance of peace between Christian's of different denominations appears to be an attempt on your part to say that the Iraq war is religiously motivated.

Can you support that claim? I suggest to you that it is a serious allegation you are making against a good man and you need to offer proof. I don't think you will find any.

George Bush is known to be a Christian, but President Clinton claimed to be a Christian as well. Presidents in our country always claim to be so. But it is clear to me that George W. Bush is willing to let Iraqis and anyone else rule themselves, even if they incorporate Muslim ideas.

George Washington is dead, so I do not speak for him. However, I would not be surprised if he saw George W. Bush as a hero with the guts to do what is right no matter how unpopular.

ThirstyJon
freedomthirst.com

What is p.o. talking about? How does this relate to the man who stood up for Moslems after 9/11 and focused us on our enemies and not each other. President Bush is a great leader. Like Washington and Lincoln the jealous and emotionally charged opponents refused to follow. They attached viciously without cause.

Bush is right. The war on terror is a war for liberty.

George Washington would have denounced George W. Bush as a traitor.

“Of all the animosities which have existed among mankind, those which are caused by difference of sentiment in religion appear to be the most inveterate and distressing, and ought most to be deprecated. I was in hopes that the enlightened and liberal policy which has marked the present age would at least have reconciled Christians of every denomination, so far that we should never again see their religious disputes carried to such a pitch as to endanger the peace of society.”
-- George Washington, letter to Sir Edward Newenham, Oct. 20, 1792.
